Ireland passport
Ireland, a land of welcome where you feel good from the very first turns of the wheel. Motorcycling is a real pleasure here and it's easy to believe that the Wild Atlantic Way was created for motorcyclists.
The Wild Atlantic Way is in Ireland a mythical road that winds along the west coast to the northern Irish border. Whether you ride custom, sporty or trail, an Irish road trip is a real treat. Motorcycles are however few on the roads and the welcome reserved to motorcyclists during their stay is very pleasant.

Formality:
No visa is required to enter Ireland.
Access:
You can reach Ireland by ferry from several ports in France, the Netherlands and Spain. Some ferries will reach Dublin when most arrive in Rosslare, in the South East. Regular flights arrive in Dublin, Belfast or Galway, on the West Coast.
Preferred periods:
You don't go to Ireland to find the sun. We are almost sure to meet there a little rain and it is also what makes the beauty of these green landscapes.
The temperatures and the climate are however more clement from June to the end of September even if riding in Ireland in April or October remains a real pleasure if you want to avoid tourists and that the shorter and colder days are not a brake for the motorcycle tourist that you are.
Dublin is full of events and concerts all year round.

Accommodation:
Accommodation in Ireland varies greatly and B&Bs are very common. There are well-known hotel chains all over the country as well as many private and sometimes family hotels that can be real gems on your motorcycle trip. Motorcycle safety is rarely a problem in Ireland.
Catering:
Beyond the famous Irish coffee, Ireland is above all known for its beers such as Guinness, Mc Ewans and whikies. Tiger Roads will guide you to discover the Guinness Museum in Dublin or the oldest whisky distillery in Ireland, in Kilbegan. Other distilleries and breweries will also be on your way.
Breakfast is a real tradition in Ireland, copious and complete as you wish, it should allow you to get through the day.
The seafood is excellent and the cuisine in the pubs is traditional and very good. Salmon is a flagship product on the west coast. And lamb is a delight the further north you'll venture.
Money and budget:
Ireland uses the Euro as its currency, while Northern Ireland has the Pound Sterling. Tensions, especially in Northern Ireland, mean that the latter rarely accept euros even if it means losing business (experienced several times) so consider getting pounds sterling when entering Northern Ireland. Most shops accept credit cards.
A pint of beer costs about $6 and a liter of petrol $1.70 (2018).
Essential:
The Cliffs of Moher, Dublin, the Giant's Causeway, the Wild Atlantic Way, the seascapes of the West and North, the peat bogs, Connemara, castles, Game of Throne sites?
Special features:
The welcome of the inhabitants is exceptional and the live music in the pubs is very frequent. Of course you drive on the left in Ireland and be careful with the distances in Northern Ireland which are indicated in miles.
Motorbike rental:
Motorbikes available for hire from Dublin are BMW GS700, GS800 and GS1200, Hondas CB500X, NC750X, Triumph, Yamaha and Harley-Davidson.
